In September (2021), Chenango Bridge Red and White started a system of weekly CHOW donations. These donations help eliminate food waste and give food to those in need. Instead of throwing away food that doesn’t sell, extended shelf-life, or is leftover, we put these items in the freezer. Every Monday, a person from CHOW comes and picks up this food. This is something that we plan to always do, and encourage other businesses to start doing too.
In September, Chenango Bridge Red and White sets up barrels where customers and the community can donate food. If customers didn’t have a food item, we allowed them to donate money for CHOW.
